Patrick discusses automating continuous testing for companies to innovate faster…
“Companies are evolving to keep up with trends in the industry, it all comes down to ‘innovating faster.’ Innovate faster is a fancy way of saying build new features and release them more quickly. In the least 5 years the number of companies making releases monthly or faster has gone from 50% to over 80%. That’s huge and keeps growing thanks to a process called continuous testing, continuous deployments (CI/CD). CI/CD removes most of the manual labor out of testing and building a new release, and automates the whole process. Platforms like Jenkins and Bamboo have made it the norm at companies that take innovation seriously. The part of it that we love the most is CI, which includes the automated testing. Selenium and Appium mixed with Sauce Labs handles websites and mobile apps, but there is a gap for the APIs that power those websites and mobile apps. That’s where we come in – closing the loop on continuous testing.”
